Diabetic Diet

1500 calories vegetarian diabetic diet

Morning:

1-2 cups tea or coffee without sugar

Breakfast: 2 slices whole wheat bread( average size), 1 small piece of cottage cheese / tofu (15 gms), i cup cooked vegetables, 1 cup tea/coffee with a little milk no sugar.

Mid Morning: banana medium size

Lunch: cup strained soup, 2 wheat chapaties, cup vegetable bhaji, cup tur dal ( thick), cup dahi ( skimmed milk), Salad, 1 teaspoon oil/ghee for cooking,

Afternoon tea: 1/2 cup poha/ 2 medium idli/ 1 piece steamed dhokla, 1/4 cup cubed water melon/papaya/oranges, 1 cup tea/coffee with little milk (no sugar),

Dinner: 2 bajra chapaties, 1 cup cooked rice, cup cooked green leafy vegetables, 1 cup urad dal/ 1/2 cup cottage cheese bhurji, cup dahi ( skimmed milk), Salad, 1 teaspoon oil/ghee for cooking

Bedtime: cup whole milk

Breakfast: 2 slices of bread( large size), 1 small piece of cottage cheese /tofu (15 gms), 1 egg fried lightly 1/2 tsp, 1 cup tea/coffee with a little milk no sugar

Lunch: cup strained soup, 2 wheat chapaties, 1 cup cooked rice, mutton stew(60gms mutton), cup vegetable bhaji, cup tur dal ( thick), cup dahi ( skimmed milk), Salad, 1 teaspoon oil/ghee for cooking

Afternoon tea: 2 small idlies/ 1 steamed dhokla, 1/2 cup fresh fruit yoghurt, 1 cup tea/coffee with little milk (no sugar)

Dinner: 2 bajra chapaties, 1 cup cooked rice, 2 pieces grilled chicken, cup cooked beans/cluster beans, 1 cup urad dal, 1 cup dahi ( skimmed milk), Salad, 1 teaspoon oil/ghee for cooking
